Earlier this year India banned Fashion TV (FTV) from airing in the country because of inappropriate content that was shown. The inappropriate content was a show called “World’s Sexiest Ads”. Well, the executives over at FTV apologized and assured the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry in India that they would remove programs similar to this in the future. ![]()
Can you imagine if their was a ban on “inappropriate” content in the U.S.? That would wipe out about 90% of the shows out there!
I can understand where the Ministry is coming from. Whether you think so or not, we are greatly influenced by what we see on TV. And we wonder why we have so many problems! We so want to be like those models we see in ads or live the lifestyle of Eva Longoria on Desperate Housewives. In subliminal ways these pictures affect us. Suddenly we feel insecure about our bodies or unhappy with our current way of life.
I’m not saying we should all stop watching TV (although I think it would help!), but just be more aware of what you watch and how you feel about what you’re watching….

Hello Samisa! My name is Kristen and I work as a content manager at www.truejeans.com. I wanted to thank you for your interest in True Jeans. I am a huge fan of the Red Engine brand that you have on your wishlist. Red Engine really makes a terrific fitting jean with such high quality denim. The straight leg style that you mentioned is a timeless cut that is a wonderful alternative to the skinny jean. The straight leg opening is much easier to wear than skinny's and this particular style's higher rise offers the perfect amount of coverage. Thank you for mentioning True Jeans and for your submission to your blog roll.
