I often wonder if boutiques can thrive in small towns or cities. My parents live in a small town in central California and I’ve thought about opening up a boutique in one of the neighboring cities. I know it’s closed-mind thinking, but the thought of small-town “hicks” understanding fast-forward fashion is a foreign concept to me. Thank Goodness I’m not the only one who thinks this way.
So, when I read about Alice Kim’s plans to open up a store in Omaha, Nebraska, it
dawned on me that high fashion isn’t just reserved for big cities and people with big pockets. Although, I do have to remember that billionaire Warren Buffet does have a home in Omaha ;)
Hmm...perhaps Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie are doing a service by bringing some kind of fashion to small towns in America...I knew they were good for something ;)
