At the YOOX website, they have a tribute to Gucci where Gucci vintage products are offered. After browsing and taking a look at some of the handbags, (cause you know handbags are my thing!) I realized how much more simple and elegant Gucci was back then. Not to say that the brand is no longer elegant, but…it just seems that everything is much more “logo” oriented nowadays - as far as handbags are concerned.
Exhibit A: A medium leather Gucci handbag. Very clean lines and you get the not-so-obvious intertwined golden G’s. A classic and simple piece, no?
Exhibit B: A more modern Gucci handbag with the logo blazoned all over. Still a cute bag, but it definitely screams, "I am Gucci! Hear me roar!"
