
Hong Kong Fashion Week kicked off today, but you probably won’t hear too much about it in the fashion world that we’ve become accustomed to. As I read this news story over at tdctrade.com, I wonder if the rest of the fashion world - those not participating in this week’s festivities - would start to pay attention if someone like, say, Angelina Jolie made an appearance. ![]()
I’m looking forward to a runway show, if any, that will take place. I know that there has to be some creative Asian designers out there just waiting to be discovered. I think the fashion world is sleeping on this market. Fashion glossies like Vogue or Glamour hardly ever cover Asian fashion, at least from what I’ve observed. And when was the last time we saw an Asian model on the front of a magazine published in the U.S.?
