I’m sure many makeup artists would disagree. What do you think? Is the cheap makeup just as good as the expensive makeup?

![]() Below is a video clip of makeup artists at work at the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week back in 2004. Last year Media Man Australia interviewed Eva Rinaldi, founder and director of Cleopatra Productions. When asked what makes a good makeup artist, Eva says, “Lots of work experience in the industry. I am still learning everyday and jump at every opportunity even if it's not paid...I don't believe in expensive makeup with all brandings. I believe all makeup is the same and is packaged differently; you don't have to use expensive makeup. The cheap makeup is just as good.” I’m sure many makeup artists would disagree. Kimberlee,
I agree to a certain degree. For me, eyeshadow and blush is all the same... However, when it comes to foundation, I like to use Bare Minerals because it's good for you face.

I wouldn't agree that "all make-up is the same." Try finding cheap hypo-allergenic cosmetics ($10 mascara is not my idea of cheap either), not likely. I have very sensitive skin, and eyes in particular and I have yet to find a drug store mascara or eye shadow brand that I can wear without it irritating my eyes. So no, it's not all the same in a different package - sometimes the ingredients are different as well.
