As those in New York make their way through all the shows at Fashion Week, those of us fashion bloggers on the sidelines are eagerly awaiting the pictures and reviews of the first shows.
I did come across this article over at Reuters which says that designers are coming out with a cleaner, more polished look. We can look forward to more grown-up look for Spring 2008. Amen to that.
What I did find interesting is that a gossip reporter by the name of Jo Piazza said this about celebrities attending fashion week:
"I don't think the celeb factor has been high at New York Fashion Week for the last couple of seasons. I think there's definitely been a downturn and I think it's because there's so many fashion events that celebrities can go to throughout the year and worldwide, that New York Fashion Week doesn't necessarily have a corner on that market anymore." (Source)
You'd think that this wasn't the case considering the number of articles that come out highlighting all the celebrities who attended such and such show. But I guess a gossip reporter would know more than me ;)
