
That's what Malcolm Harris says about fashion designers in this video I found via his interview with The Business of Fashion. Just yesterday I was talking about how YouTube is great to get free marketing for your fashion brand and here's a fashion designer who has taken advantage of all the tools offered by the internet to establish his own brand, Mal Sirrah.
If you visit his site, you'll notice that Malcolm Harris has his own MySpace page as well as a blog, CutSewandBlog.com. How many fashion designers do you know have a personal blog? Well, besides some the designers from Project Runway, but they're "with it", unlike many of the established designers that we know and love.
I love to read about a fashion designer's challenges and musings. Not just what the newspapers print about them. Wouldn't it be great if we could get into the head of someone like Ralph Lauren? I mean, really know what they think about on a daily basis?
