You just gotta love Oscar de la Renta for telling it like it is.  In this New York Post article a "Source" says:

"None of the girls who just show up to places to get their pictures taken were invited.  Oscar thinks they are tacky and is only interested in the women who actually support his work and, you know, buy the clothes."

We can assume Oscar is talking about the, ahem, celebrities that show up expecting to get front row seats.  If I was a designer like Oscar de la Renta, I would probably be exactly the same way.
