What It Is: A super-addictive new fashion community where users upload and vote on real-world outfits, choosing the best looks of the day. WARNING: Once you rate one outfit, you're hooked.
Why It Matters: Because street fashion has become the foundation for current fashion. Fashion doesn't go from the top-down, but rather, from the street-up. As designer Diane Von Furstenberg put it, "Everything in fashion begins in the street." Now in fashion, everything will begin online.
StyleMob allows users to upload photos of their outfits, describing what they're wearing and where they got it, vote and comment on each other's looks, and find fashion inspiration. Everyday the mob chooses winning looks. StyleMob also lets members post advice questions ("Should I keep plucking my eyebrows?" or "What should I wear with this jacket?") to their own personal StyleCouncil, a team of personal stylists made up of friends and Specialists on StyleMob.
