
As I said at my other blog:
"Fashion is a business just like anything else in this world and there's certainly money to be made in the fashion industry. It's not just about which celebrity wore what on the red carpet. We all wear clothes, right?"
On a superficial level, there are people who make the fashion industry appear as if it is a meat market where celebrities call the shots and items of clothing are just to be consumed and thrown away. However, on a deeper level fashion is about self-identity and self-expression. Designers like Oscar de la Renta and Valentino are artists much the same as Monet or Van Gogh are artists. The only difference is that in fashion we actually wear the art.
