When it comes to fashion designers, you have the strong key players like Ralph Lauren, Valentino, and Oscar de la Renta. Then there are the somewhat silent, yet still influential designers like Elie Tahari who just opened up a new boutique within the Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills Store. Actresses Kristen Bell and Marcia Cross (Does that woman ever age?) were also at the new boutique celebration...
Not knowing very much about Elie Tahari, I checked out his website and discovered the philosophy behind his brand. Here's a little excerpt from his bio:
"With the transcendent vision of an artist, Elie Tahari is a man seduced by the truth and beauty of life. So it is no surprise that the most elegantly understated fashions of this century have evolved from the house of this impassioned designer, who believes clothing should be 'quieter than the woman,' so that her true beauty can shine through."
I love that philosophy. Now if we can get Elie Tahari to bring that idea into his ad campaigns!
