Could handbag sales be on the decline? Well, according to this article over at the International Herald Tribune , analysts are saying that handbag sales could fall back and that now the trend is in buying branded designer jewelry. 
Perhaps this is true, but my recent visit to the Nordstrom handbag department proved otherwise. My thinking is that women have more options now that they can shop online (hello!) and are buying handbags from online retailers. You can't just look at what's happening in brick and mortar stores anymore. There's also the possibility that women are buying handbags from independent and lesser-known brands these days.
