The weather here in Southern California is slowly getting cooler, so this weekend I figured it was time to go shopping for new women's boots and women's shoes for the fall season. As we wandered from store to store waiting for a shoe to stand out and say, "Buy me!", my boyfriend made an observation:
"Wow - I don't know how women can decide what shoes to buy! There are way too many styles to choose from!" We were standing in the middle of a major department store with shoes of all shapes and colors vying for attention. It's enough to give any shoe lover heart palpitations. I had to wipe the drool drizzling down the side of my mouth.
Let's thank all the shoe manufacturers for that. They know that women love their shoes! It's a wonder how many of these shoe companies continue to thrive despite all the competition. Every department store has a shoe department. Then there are stand-alone shoe stores - not to mention all the online shoe stores and the companies that have shoe departments online. Because of all the different outfits we wear and the different tastes in clothing, the shoe industry will continue to be successful.
We can look at it this way - all this competition keeps the prices of shoes low. Women can still look fabulous, even on a budget. Online websites like Overstock.com offer brand name and designer women's shoes at pretty decent discounts. They have a great selection of footwear - as good as you can find most anywhere. As I browsed through the women's boots, I came across a pair of Gucci boots that I've added to the wish list...
