Fashion Designers: Think About Your Client
This weekend while everyone was out during the shopping craze, I was able to catch a replay of episode 2 of Project Runway in which the designers were given the challenge to create an outfit for Sarah Jessica Parker's BITTEN line for Steve & Barry's.

Project%20Runway%20Season%204.jpg Most of the designers did create some interesting looks, but there were a couple that just didn't fit in with the Bitten line.  For instance, Christian's "retro 80's" jacket was very creative and I did like it, but he didn't really think about the client or his customers.  You may remember from a previous season the designer Santino who was very good at not creating for the client and designing what he liked as opposed to what the client liked.  That's not to say he's a bad designer, it's just that he probably shouldn't do custom-made orders.

Let's say that you were to design an outfit for Versace's fall collection.  You wouldn't create pieces that looked like something out of Ann Taylor, would you?  It just wouldn't work - and we all know Tim Gunn's famous phrase, "Make It Work!"
