
In my fashion book, the name Lanvin may be a new addition, but this brand has been around for decades. I enjoyed reading this article by Linda Grant, Lanvin: a hidden allure which offers us a history lesson about Jeanne Lanvin's rise to fame in the fashion industry.
It's amazing how long the brand has lasted considering Jeanne Lanvin wasn't a self-promoter and didn't have any public relations. She simply had a love for quality. Alber Elbaz, the current designer for Lanvin, saw something in this brand to give it new life.
It wasn't until this year did I really pay attention to Lanvin - more so because of the recent bold and chic ad campaigns in the fashion glossies. For an example of Elbaz's genius designs, check out this video of the Spring 2008 Lanvin collection.
