Ever since I wrote up the post about luxury and accessibility, my radar has opened up to luxury fashion. I just stumbled upon this article at Bloomberg which gives us a glimpse into the organic luxury market.
One key takeaway from this article is that although there are regulations on organic food market here in the U.S., these regulations do not apply to organic clothing. In other words, there are no watch dogs to tell us if the organic clothing we are purchasing is indeed organic.

In doing some research on organic clothing, I came across this organic clothing blog which has some interesting information. For instance, I did not know that there was a difference between "organic" and "sustainable" clothing.

That's wrong! There are standards for organic clothing. There is the Global Organic Textile Standard. The International Working Group on GOTS has published an online 22-page booklet detailing the GOTS principals.
I wrote an article for my blog, GreenVitals.net, featuring a retailer,Fashion & Earth, that strictly adheres to these standards. The article has a link to the standards.
