There's been some talk about the perfume commercial that David Lynch did for Gucci. I Watch Stuff says that Lynch is a sell out and was disappointed with the commercial. Karina of the Spout Blog says, "In some ways, this feels like what Lynch has been working towards for years: it’s a chance for him to experiment with mood and visual atmosphere without having to worry about assigning meaning to anything."
I actually like the commercial. Perhaps it's because one of my favorite songs from Blondie is used or it somehow evokes that inner diva in me that also wants to sashay around the room in a long, flowey dress. I think it may be harder for the younger generation to connect with this commercial, but as someone who grew up in the Blondie era, I definitely get it.
