If there's one designer whom I admire for his ability to bring timeless, yet totally now collections, it's Michael Kors. His Pre-Fall 2008 collection can be worn by anyone - from fashionable moms, to career women, and everyone in-between.
In a basic color palette of black, white, and grey, many of the pieces could be mixed and matched with other pieces in one's wardrobe. The collection is chic, sassy, subtle, and minimalist, yet very commanding in a "Who's-that-girl?" way.

"The collection is chic, sassy, subtle, and minimalist, yet very commanding in a 'Who's-that-girl?' way." You said it perfectly. It is the classic-with-a-twist look.
