In many ways I feel that costume designers create some of the best fashion. Many of us saw this in some of Chris' pieces on Project Runway (Season 4). He has an uncanny way of molding fabric into sculptural masterpieces. Pierre Balmain was also a costume designer who had an eye for creating fabric into works of art. I agree that Christopher Decarnin's aesthetic is a tad removed from the original designer's vision, but I think we can agree that Decarnin does know how to create his own sculptures out of fabric and a woman's body. And speaking of sculptures, I must make note of the size of the models in the Balmain runway show. Check out those legs! This collection is definitely not for the woman who is shy about her body.
