The color purple (no, not the movie) has made quite a statement these past couple years.  It was once the color used to indicate royalty and now it has inspired designers to come up with bold, vibrant creations.  It's something about wearing purple that gives you confidence and makes the whole outfit look polished.  And if there's anyone who deserves to be described as royalty, it's Oscar de la Renta. I like how de la Renta used purple in his lavish Fall 2008 collection.  The team over at Coutorture put together an excellent fashion photo shoot using some of the pieces from the collection...
