Project Runway has been a great stepping stone for many fashion designers to get their career started.  There are some Project Runway alumni who fade off into the distant while others like Malan Breton (Season 3) are soaring into the fashion dream world of being able to show at Bryant Park and score a slot at BravoTV.  Malan's fall 2008 collection is understated chic.  You would think that a collection so simple would be boring, but it's far from it.
