In the U.S. we are very fortunate to live in "the land of the free and the home of the brave" where we can have as many kids as we want, we're allowed to practice whatever religion calls us, we can roam around anywhere in cyberspace, wear whatever piece of cloth suits our fancy, and say whatever you want to say (Unless you're CBS or FOX News - Oh, but I digress).

However, sometimes I wonder if there should be laws like
the one French legislators are trying to pass that will ban websites that promote eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. This is the country that is known for high fashion and skinny models - so what happens to Paris Fashion Week? I know that banning websites is just the first step. Pretty soon they'll be looking at fashion ads and fashion events. We've already seen
this happen in Madrid.
This all goes back to the debate on whether or not the fashion and beauty industries are to blame for what these young girls are doing to their bodies. Part of me says yes, they (marketing people, fashion designers, and even models' agents) are to blame, but another part of me thinks that these girls have their own minds and they should be free to do what they want to do. It's their choice.
But then, if there weren't all these skinny images floating around so much, maybe these young girls would be healthy
...or would they find something else to be addicted to?
Just some thoughts running around in my mind. Feel free to chime in...
