Here at The Runway Scoop we love to see runway fashion from countries other than the major shows in France and Italy. It is true that it's always fashion week somewhere...and this past week it was in Berlin. I must admit that I know nothing about the culture in Berlin - or the fashion scene for that matter. If the Vivienne Westwood, Joop!, and Sisi Wasabi shows are any indication of what to expect from Berlin, I would say that the country is definitely fashion forward.
Vivienne Westwood presented her Spring 2009 Anglomania collection which featured punk-inspired pieces that Westwood is famous for. If I had the guts to, I might be inclined to wear some of the ensembles in this collection. This collection actually pretty mild compared to the Spring 2008 collection that Westwood showed in Paris.
Joop! produced a spring collection that offers a reminder that the future of fashion is indeed right now. Very hip and innovative. As much as I love hats, I'm not so sure I'd wear a big shiny thing that looks like some kind of disk on top of my head.
The Sisi Wasabi collection was a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Some of the pieces you could walk out on the street and wear right now...and then there are others that could be saved for very special or unique occasions.
